We LOVED our stay at this house. It is in a beautiful, quiet spot, up on a hill and overlooking the mountains. We loved s'mores in the fire pit, relaxing in the hot tub, playing xbox, having breakfast on the patio, and napping on the couches! And all without even leaving the house! We also enjoyed biking, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and exploring the area around Bethel - we wish we had stayed longer to get to explore some more!
The house is absolutely kid-friendly, down to the puzzles and games in the basement and a high chair! We also brought our dog, who took some naps on the doggie bed in the crate and sniffed her little heart out around the outdoors! The house was generously sized, with huge bedrooms and plenty of space - our family of four (5 if you count the furry one) had lots of space to spread out, and there could have easily been 15 of us comfortably. The owners were wonderful, too. They left us a nice bottle of wine to enjoy when we arrived, and there were fresh wildflowers from the property decorating the kitchen island.
It was a wonderful retreat, easy to get away from everything and experience nature, while still being connected if we needed to be (the house has very reliable and fast wi-fi). It would be a great retreat in all 4 seasons, and we might have to come back for the next three!!
This year our family decided to get away for Thanksgiving and this property was the perfect place to unplug together. It was well equipped for everything we needed to cook a traditional turkey dinner and had plenty of room for our family to sprawl out and enjoy mountain views.
As a family of 5 with 3 little children, we were really blessed by how kid friendly everything was. It is clear the owners have spent some time thoughtfully equipping and laying out the cabin for families. We also have a black lab and especially appreciated how dog friendly the owners have made the property.
We were really close to town and enjoyed the quaint village of Bethel.
Our favorite activity by far making was making a fire in the outdoor fire pit in the snow and having smores' after building a snow man. Then to top it off, we took a dip in the hot tub. That made for an awesome afternoon.
The sleeping arrangements were great and the layout allows for different groups of people to have privacy. This was especially helpful for our 8 month old who easily had a quiet place to nap while the older two played at their normal pace.
We had a wonderful time and will be returning in the future!
My husband and I shared the house with another couple for a perfect weekend getaway in early November. The cabin was beautiful, even better than the pictures, with a view of the mountains that does not disappoint. The owners attention to detail was immediately obvious- the house is fully equipped with appropriate linens, kitchen supplies and even cribs and a high chair for the little ones (we both had our small children with us). We enjoyed just lounging by the fire, sitting on the deck and soaking in the hot tub, but we'd love to return during ski season as well because of the house's close proximity to Sunday River.
