Me and my family stayed at this house July 4th week. We enjoyed everything the house had to offer. The pool was great and so was the house, the only thing was that it was really hot in the house and no AC. That’s the only bad thing about the house, everything else was great. I recommend this house to anyone looking for a place to vacation in Maine. Thank you to the owner of the property and look forward to maybe renting it next time I’m in Maine again!!!
Hi Joel, Thank you very much for your review of the property, we're happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! Agreed that it was incredibly hot during the week of the 4th here in Bethel. While a/c is more the exception than the norm for vacation properties in the Bethel area, we do get requests every now and then for a/c - at least for one or two bedrooms if not the whole house, and the Owner may be willing to accommodate that. Again, your review is appreciated, I hope you have a great rest of your Summer, and we'd love to have you back if you visit the area again! David Huard Connecting Rentals of Bethel
We stayed in this house for one week in mid-March 2017. The week included a major blizzard that shut down much of the Northeast. Throughout the week, including during the storm, the house was cozy -- the living space includes an impressive stone fireplace and the bedrooms kept everyone warm. It was also spacious -- an open floor plan connects the living room, dining room, and kitchen on the main floor, and each bedroom has its own bathroom. Some highlights include the fourth bedroom, which has one double- and three twin-size bunk beds with thick, comfortable mattresses. Your kids -- including teenaged kids who may hate being relegated to bunk beds -- will sleep well. The house, while large and modern, is built in the style of a log cabin, and the interior walls in particular are beautiful. The house is also 15 minutes away from Sunday River, so skiing is convenient.
The house accommodated our needs, was very spacious for the kids to go downstairs while the adults had plenty of room in the living room. The kitchen was well stock with everything you could want. The three bathrooms were clean and well kept. There were plenty of towels for all 12 of us and then some. The bedrooms gave you plenty of privacy. The pool and jacuzzi were very clean. The area was very quiet and you couldn't see any of the neighbors.
The downsides were some of the couches and chairs need updating. The walkway from downstairs to the pool is dangerous. We ran out of toilet paper. I didn't appreciate that fact that they ask you to throw in some laundry before you leave the house (granted it is optional) but I thought that is why I paid the cleaning fee. After seeing some of the other houses in the area, this wouldn't be my first choice in the future.
The house is beyond our expectation. It was so clean, spacious, and beautiful. The owner/management is so responsive and easy to reach out.
It completely satisfies in every way throughout our vacation.
We all loved it!
We're so sure that we will be back!
Thank you for everything :)
Thanks to David to let us rent the house. The house was very clean & spacious for large family. The owner was very responsive. The kitchen was well stock with all the good u need. The pool & jacuzzi was very clean. Kids loved the pool. The house is in very quiet neighborhood. Only downside was places where we wanted to go was little far away from the house. I wish pool was heated cause it does get chilly at night. Definitely planning to come back to Maine & looking forward to rent it again.
The house was very large and easily accommodated our 16 family members for my Mom's 80th birthday celebration. Huge kitchen where 3 or 4 people could work together without getting in each others way. Ton's of gadgets and small appliances. The most important one was missing. Coffee pot was broken so we McGyver'd it that first AM. Bought a new one and left it for you next folks. Plenty of towels and nice to have the washing machine and dryer when they all seem to be wet from pool use. Pool vacuum runs constantly unless you figure out how to disconnect it. It also gets stuck in places on the liner which worried us that it would make a hole. Deck under hot tub looks like it needs to be shored up. I was a little afraid to use it due to the weight of the unit plus 4 people. It had no steps to get up over the side either. Kids jumped in using a footstool. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived. Well stocked to get you started with items you need such as toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dish soap, garbage bags etc. Cell service is sketchy but all in all had a great time. Very nice home and great location to hike, fish, kayak or just kick back in the pool.
The house was in a great location for a quiet getaway! We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute of it! The house was clean and comfortable, with more than enough space for 3 families of 4!
As someone else has mentioned, the stairs to the pool from the back of the house are falling apart, but there is access to the pool from the front as well. It wasn't a factor for us, even with the 6 kids.
In the end we enjoyed our stay and will consider renting again in the future! Thanks for allowing my family to rent this house for one last getaway before the summer ends!
The house was absolutely perfect for my large group of friends. The pictures don't do it justice, it's absolutley beautiful! It's in a perfect location with very little neighbors around. Although it was too chilly to enjoy the pool it looked very clean and the steps to it looked safe. We did get to use the hot tube which was awesome! The kitchen was very large to accommodate a big group eating together. There were a ton of towels and extra blankets and sheets for everyone. Although we didn't use it, the renting office also offered us a late check out! If we ever come back to the area we would definitely rent this house again! Thank you so much!
