I had to plan the perfect honeymoon for me and wife. I live in south Florida so it had to be somewhere totally different than what we are used to. I’ve always wanted to rent a cabin in the woods somewhere but, I didn’t want to be totally secluded in the middle of nowhere either. I was surfing the web for suggestions for nearly 2 weeks trying to come up with something. I stumbled across a little ski town through an advertisement that showed beautiful mountainous views. At first I thought the little “ski town” would have nothing to offer unless snow was on the ground. But after 5 minutes of research I saw that wasn’t the case at all. The surrounding areas offered hiking / mountain bike trails, waterfalls, caves, apple picking, mini golf, etc. The next step was to find that perfect cabin house I would spend the week with my wife. I wanted something somewhat romantic & modern enough to where we had the accommodations we would need to feel cozy. I saw this place, it was perfect for what I needed and it had the price point I was looking for. It was absolutely perfect!
Our family has visited this house on two separate occasions- Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends and what a wonderful way to start and end the summer! The setting is beautiful, plenty of privacy yet close to town and local attractions. The house was immaculate with plenty of towels, sheets, and kitchen needs. The layout of the house allows for plenty of room for guests to find privacy or gather in the living room or lovely 3 season porch. The first time we visited we were 2 couples and 2 teens and the 3 bedrooms were perfect. The second time we had a larger group and used the loft space with futon couch and plenty of room for the kids to hang out. There is plenty to do in the area besides skiing. We went on lovely hikes and swam in a water hole deep in the woods. There are also several lakes around for boating and kayaking. Although we are not skiers, I imagine this would be the perfect place to come after a long day outdoors and relax around one of the 2 wood burning stoves. I highly recommend staying here....comfortable, clean, spacious....and something for everyone!
If you are looking for some time away from the craziness of your life, this is the place for you! This house is the epitome of a Maine ski chalet. Whether you go in the summer (which I did) or the winter, this property is perfect!! The summer offers lots of fun things to do at Sunday River (zip lining, hiking, rock climbing, etc.) as well as downtown Bethel. And of course the winter is perfect for skiing with less than 10 minutes to Sunday River. The house itself is so roomy and inviting. Immaculate and in wonderful condition. Lots of space for a few families. The side room with the gas stove (there is another one in the main living room as well) is a perfect spot to seclude yourself if you want some quiet time. I highly recommend this property! We fell in love with it and can't wait to go back!
Location was secluded and quiet, yet close enough to town to quickly access ALL things necessary. Cabin was SUPER clean! And I am extremely picky! It was also nicely appointed. Great kitchen for preparing family meals and for snacking! Ample bedroom space and 2 baths were a huge plus! Great little gas stove adds to the ambience! A real gem! We LOVED it!
